Babywearing is an ancient art that is making a comeback in modern parenting methods. “Wearing” your baby in a safe, supportive baby carrier will strengthen the bond between you and your baby, help establish and support a good breastfeeding relationship, aid your baby's digestion, make your baby less fussy, and leave your hands free. Perhaps most importantly, it is so much more convenient than pushing your baby in a stroller! With so many baby carriers available, though, it can be hard to know how to choose – particularly given the fact that certain types of carriers can be dangerous to both baby and parent. That is why it is so important, in choosing and using your baby carrier(s), that you consult with a trained, certified babywearing educator.

Elimination Communication (EC)

From the moment they are born, we expect that our babies will be capable of communicating with us about their need to eat, sleep, be held, and be clothed. Elimination communication, sometimes also called “infant potty training” or “natural infant hygiene,” is our modern rediscovery of a concept that moms all over the world have understood for ages: from the moment they are born, babies are also capable of communicating about their need to potty! Practicing EC means understanding more about your baby, communicating more with your baby, and releasing yourself and your family from the smelly, expensive, environmentally damaging, and potentially unhealthy route of conventional diapering practices.
